SEC Traditions
The SEC would not be what it is now without the many traditions that it holds. For example, when the LSU Tigers play the Arkansas Razorbacks they play for a trophy called the golden boot. Ever since the Razorbacks joined the sec in 1992 there has been a rivalry with LSU. In the year 1992 the golden boot, which is a trophy shaped like the 2 states. Also the mascot Uga for the Georgia Bulldogs is a real decendent of the original Uga I. Sadly the most recent Uga VIII died of canine lymphoma and a new Uga is being searched for. The Tennessee Vols also have a mascot tradition of a blue tick hound named Smokey IX decended from Smokey I. South Carolina Gamecocks have the Cockaboose Railroad which they drive around before every game. In a game in 1906 when Alabama played #1 Auburn and were expected to lose. Instead they came back and tied 6-6. The field was very muddy and the red clay mud that covered the Alabama players gave them the nickname of the Crimson Tide and that has stuck with them even unitl now.
