Cast

Roy Trenneman (Chris O'Dowd)- Roy is always trying to fit in with proper men by talking about football annd drinking, even though he says he doesn't like people. He is lazy and gets frustrated by the other employees at Reynholm Industries, who don't even know how to turn on their computers. His famous line in the show is, "Have you tried turning it off again?"

Maurice Moss (Richard Ayoade)- Moss is a huge geek, who doesn't get out much and never uses bad language. He is best friends with Roy and Jen is the only women other thann his mother he knows. Moss has a tendency to get in trouble and is so acute in common sense that he does't sense the danger of the situation. In contrast to Roy he isn't interested in fitting in with other people, but he gets along with them just fine.

Jen Barber (Katherine Parkinson)- Jen Barber is the exact opposite of both Roy and Moss. She is used to being an extremely social and popular person person. Because of her small knowledge of computers and her skills at being social she decides to become the I.T. department's relationship manager.

Denholm Reynholm (Chris Morris)- Chris Morris agreed to play this character to promote the show for Graham Linehan since he is a big name in Britain. He is on the show for seasons 1 and 2 and shows up in the episode from Hell in season 3. Denholm is a rich, well to do business man, who is the founder of Reynholm Industries. He is always coming up with strange initiatives to improve performance by hiring attractive people that don't do a lot of work and have affairs with each other. Hhe commits suicide by walking out of a window after hearing that the police are at his business and want to ask him questions about irregularities in the pension funds. He eventually gives Reynholm Industries to his son, Douglas Reynholm.

Douglas Reynholm (Matt Berry)- Douglas is the son of Denholm Reynholm and he becomes the boss of Roy, Moss, and Jen on the condition he never get involved in another sex scandal. He shows up in the middle of the speech of the man who thought he was going to get Reynholm Industries and fire the I.T. department. He becomes interested in Jen, which allows the I.T. department to kepp their jobs. He is very dim and has other people run his business for him. Douglas becomes close to the I.T. department in pursuit of Jen.

Richmond Avenal (Noel Fielding)- Noel was a big hit on the show and after being on the show for about two seasons he left, but made an appearance in the fourth season since everyone wanted Richmond to return. Richmond was doing well at Reynholm Industries when he discovered the goth metal band Cradle of Filth. He became a goth and att the funeral of Denolm's father he tried to console Denholm's mother by giving her one of the Cradle of Filth CDs. After that incident Denholm had Richmonnd restricted to working behind a red door in the I.T. department. He makes his first appearance when Jen notices the door for the first time and Roy and Moss act strangely at the idea of opening it. Their strange behavior makes he r even more curious about what is behind, so when Roy and Moss are out of the office she opens it to find Richmond. He eventually retreats back behind the door, but makes random appearances in different episodes.

Graham Linehan- Graham is the writer for The IT Crowd and also shows up in a few episodes. He shows up as the Messy Joe's Restaurant Musician in Season One, Episode 3, the blind sorcerer in Season Two, Episode 6 as an audience member of Jen's speech in Season Three, Episode 4 and as Beth Gaga Shaggy in Season Four, Episode 3.
