In 1965, The Beatles held one of the biggest concerts of all time, and the first major stadium rock concert in history at Shea Stadium. The attendance of this event broke records that stood for years, with 55,600 screaming, eccentric, and even fainting fans.

The Beatles concluded their touring career with a final performance at Candlestick Park on August 29th, 1966. After this, The Beatles proceeded to produce numerous studio albums, and made media appearances. The band continued to gain controversy later in their career as their songs began to make political commentary. An example of such a song was the 1968 release Revolution.

In 1969, the band was experiencing tensions between members, mainly Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Following the completion of the Abbey Road album, The Beatles were recording a new album which at that time was called Get Back (now known as Let It Be). The album was finalized during the breakup of the band, and some songs were recorded without all the members of the band. The well known last performance of the band was an impromptu concert on the roof of Apple Corps in London. Despite the breakup of the band, and the death of two of its members, the band still is highly popular and is regarded as one of the most influential bands of all time.
