The Fray's Musical Influences

 

Counting Crows	Often compared to Counting Crows, The Fray has a similar style and opened up for Counting Crows in The Fray's first ever tour, which was a huge success and started out the group's populartiy. Counting Crows have a mature pop sounds that makes them so good. Counting Crows continues to make well known music.
Coldplay	The Fray members said that Coldplay inspires them to do better as a band and pushes them. Some criticize The Fray for being a copy of Coldplay, but that is not completely accurate and is also good company to be compared to. Both groups have been bringing piano rock back. Coldplay continues to be a very popular group.
Oasis	Oasis formed in 1991 and continues to make music today. This English pop/rock group influenced The Fray. Oasis was made into overnight pop stars with the release of its debut album, Definitely Maybe. The Fray liked Oasis's music and was influenced by them.
Charlatans U.K.	Charlatans U.K. was an English group that played alternative rock and was popular in the 1990s. The Fray was influenced by this group as well.
