KRIST NOVOSELIC

Born Krist Anthony Novoselic on May 16, 1965 to Krist and Maria Novoselic, Krist began his life in Compton, CA. When he was 14, Krist, his parents
and two siblings moved to Aberdeen, WA. It was here that Krist would meet Kurt Cobain and begin one of the most influential bands of the 20th Century, Nirvana. On September 24, 1991, the release of Nirvana's Nevermind solidified Krist's position in the history of Rock and Roll.
Since Kurt Cobain's suicide on April 8th, 1994, Krist has starred in two musical acts. His first band after Nirvana, Sweet 75, is considered a
commerical failure due to the lack of publicity the band received. Sweet 75 was made up of Krist on guitar, Yva Las Vegas on bass and Adam Wade on drums.
Sweet 75 broke up in the summer of 2000.
In late 2001, Krist teamed up with fellow musicians Kurt Kirkwood (Meat Puppets) and Bud Gaugh (Sublime) to form Eyes Adrift. Eyes Adrift released their
first and only album on September 24, 2002 to much praise. After a lengthy tour, the album was considered a commerical failure and the band soon broke up.
In October of 2006, Krist was asked to join the influential punk band Flipper as bass player. Both Krist & Kurt were influenced by Flipper's heavy,
raw punk sound. Krist was honored to join Flipper. They are currently working on producing a new album, and are touring in select cities.
More recently, Krist has been known for his political endeavors. In 1995 he founded JAMPAC (Joint Artists and Music Promotions Political Action Committee)
to lobby against a Seattle bill that would make it easier to censor music. In 2008, he was elected chair of the board of directors of FairVote, and organization devoted to transforming our elections to achieve universal access to participation, a full spectrum of meaningful ballot choices and majority rule with fair representation for all.
Currently, Krist has been advocating voting reform by supporting initiatives such as Instant Runoff Voting and Proportional Representation.
