Ted Williams played from 1939-1960. He is known of one of the best, if not the best, hitters in the game today. In his 19 seasons of playing he had a batting average of .344 with 521 home runs and1,839 runs batted in. He was given the nickname of the Splendid Splinter because he was such a dominant hitter. He was a left handed batter who threw with his right arm.

Carl Yastrzekski was the last player to win the triple crown (leading the league in home runs, batting average, and runs batted in.) He had a batting average of .326%, 121 runs batted in, and 44 home runs. He had a total if 3,149 hits.

Jim Rice was an yet another outstanding hitter coming from the Red Sox franchise. He won the 1978 Most Valuable Player award leading the league in hits, hoem runs, RBI and triples.
