John Mayer was born October 16, 1977. He is originally from Connecticut, and attended Berklee College of Music. He has achieved many awards like multi-platinum status and best male pop vocal performance grammy award for "Your Body Is a Wonderland". He also has been considered one of the best guitarists twice by Rolling Stone.
Mayer began his career performing mainly acoustic rock, but gradually began a transition towards the blues genre in 2005. Since then he has worked with blues artists such as: B. B. King, Buddy Guy, and Eric Clapton. The blues influence can really be heard on his album Continuum. Mayer's career pursuits have extended to stand-up comedy, design, and writing. He is also involved in philanthropic activities through his "Back to You" fund and his concern over global warming. |
