The Man Named Cassius Clay

He was born Cassius Marcellus Clay in Louisville, Kentucky on January 17th, 1942. He beacsme interested in boxing at an early age. He would fight all around the city. He was always traing and at the early age of 18 he won a gold metal at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy, ever since tha point he has been a champion. His father an mother were so proud of him. By the time that the Vietnam War came around, young Cassius Clay was dafted to go fight over seas. It was then that he changed his religion to that of Muslim. According to the Islam religion, it is against their belief to go to war. Cassius Clay was not forced to go over seas. It was at that point that he becasmse greatly involved with his religion and he changed his name to the one that is known alll around the world, Muhammad Ali.

The boxer that is most kknown around the world is the man named Muhammad Ali. The reasin that he chose to change his name to Muhammad Ali is becasue the God of the Islam religion is Allah and the prophet is named Muhammad, and combining the two, you get the name Muhammad Ali. Ali is now 67 years old, he has a loving wife Yolanda Ali, seven daughters and two sons. Muhammad Ali is probably one of the most influential athlete of all times.
