At the 1988 Slam Dunk competition in Chicago, Michael Jordan needed to do something spectacular to defend his turf. So he took off from the foul line and slammed the ball home from this classic dunk.

Jordan’s average of 17.7ppg during his three seasons in Chapel Hill wasn’t quite as impressive as his ability to hang in the air.

   

Jordan drives on his old UNC teammate Sam Perkins during Game 2 of the 1991 Finals against the Lakers; the two MJs, Magic and Michael, jockey for position underneath the boards in the same series.
