Ian Fleming was born May 28. 1908 in London. He was a British author and journalist, famous for the James Bond book series, along with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and a few other books. Ian died on August 12, 1964 from a heart attack.

James Bond originally started as the star of a series of books written by Ian Fleming. He was created in January of 1952 while Ian Fleming was on vacation. Bond had twelve novels, the first of which was Casino Royale in 1953. The first Bond movie, Dr. No, came out in 1962.
